Reclamation District No. 828 – Weber Tract is located in San Joaquin County within incorporated and unincorporated portions of the City of Stockton. The District encompasses approximately 700 acres and is bounded by Smith Canal to the north, Pershing Avenue to the east, and the Deep Water Channel to the west and south. It is responsible for maintaining the levee system along Smith Canal.
Reclamation District No. 828 was organized under provisions of the California Water Code for the purpose of providing a means of flood control to the land encompassed by the District. Its main function is to adequately maintain the system of levees and drainage pumps which are the major components of the Flood Control System.
